Western Australia's Masters of Rugby League

Welcome to WA Masters of Rugby League!

Since our first tournament in 2008, Masters Rugby League has grown and evolved here in Perth. 2009 saw the Nth Beach Club host our annual gathering and run a fantastic event. Eight teams took part in a very full day of rugby league followed by the WA Reds first win of the season.

We have had a massive surge of interest in playing a regular competition, so this year (2010) we will be playing a round of games every three weeks. As yet, the day and times have not been ratified - talks are underway with the WARL. If you have any ideas or comments please feel free to contact us.

The rebirth of the Mosman Cottesloe in 2009's tournament was fantastic to see. In 2010 we hope to see the flashing black and gold out on the field again, along with other teams like the Coastal Cowboys, Belmont Steelers or even Applecross Jets.

The Full Team

Our Committee organized a display game between the Reserve and First Grade Grand Finals in 2009. Thanks to the WARL for helping us promote our concept of Rugby League. So many past players leave our game thinking they have nothing else to offer once they retire. Well now they have a chance to be a big part of Rugby League again through Masters.

We hope this web site will help to inform all those interested about what is happening here in Perth and across the borders in QLD and NSW. You will also notice we have links directly to New Zealand. It won't be long and Great Britain will also be linked, so all tournaments anywhere will be at your display.

Masters Sydney Trip

We took a team to Penrith in 2009 to play St Doms Old Boys in a one-off game. This was a fantastic weekend. Thanks to Malcolm Duncan and the Brothers club in Penrith for your hospitality and endeavour to make our stay as great as it was.

In 2010 we hope to take another team, or maybe two, to Coffs Harbour and play in the National Tournament. There is also a trip to England next year. If you are interested, just check out Masters of League.

I really hope we can make this concept an enjoyable experience for all those participating. Please contact us with any feedback, good or negative, and we will all work together for the good of our game.
